Learn how to master combat in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood with our guide covering combo attacks, blocks, counters, dodges, and more. Become a deadly assassin!

Alright, let's get you up to speed on combat in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. It might seem a little overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of these moves, you'll be taking down enemies like a seasoned pro. Think of this as your cheat sheet for staying alive and looking good doing it.

Combo Attack — Action, Action once Sword makes contact

This is your bread and butter for dealing damage quickly. Once your sword connects with an enemy's blade, mash that attack button again right away. It's tough for them to block, and it often leads to a swift kill. Don't miss the timing!

Block — High Profile

This is how you defend yourself. When an enemy swings their sword at you, hold down the block button. It's pretty straightforward, but remember, this only works against sword attacks. You're on your own if they decide to shoot arrows at you!

Counter Attack — Block, Attack

This is a fantastic move that can often end a fight in one go. First, block an incoming enemy attack. The moment you successfully block, press the attack button. If you time it right, you'll either get a kill or knock them down, leaving them vulnerable.

Strong Attack — Hold Attack

Need to deal some serious damage? Hold down the attack button. This unleashes a powerful strike that can usually take down most enemies instantly. Just be careful, though – if an enemy manages to counter your strong attack, it can leave you in a bad spot.

Dodge — Legs, Block

Sometimes blocking isn't an option, or you just can't block the incoming attack. When an enemy is coming at you and you can't block, use the dodge. Altair will leap back, giving you some breathing room.

Step — Legs

This move lets you quickly move towards your enemy. It's not super useful on its own until you unlock the Defence Break, but it's good to know it's there for closing the distance.

Defence Break — Step and Attack

This is where the 'Step' move becomes really useful. You step towards the enemy and immediately follow up with an attack. This breaks their guard, opening them up for a free hit. It might even be enough to finish them off!

Kick — Action, on a Ladder

Found yourself in a ladder fight? If an enemy is climbing up below you, you can use the kick action to knock them right off. It's a great way to gain the upper hand in those vertical skirmishes.

Grab Break — Block, Arm

If an enemy tries to grab you while you're blocking, don't let them! Press the arm button to counter their grab, sending them to the ground. It's a quick way to turn the tables on an opponent trying to get too close.
