Tax Level:

Anno 1404 Tax Level settings control inhabitant tax income. Level 1 collects normal tax, Level 2 collects less, and Level 3 collects very little.

This setting directly impacts the amount of tax you collect from your inhabitants. Setting the Tax Level above Level 1 will drastically reduce your income, making it difficult to achieve a positive balance, especially if you are also engaged in war. Level 2 is manageable, but your progress will be slower.

Recommendation:

• If playing Anno 1404 by yourself, set the Tax Level to Level 1 or Level 2.
• If playing with others, set the Tax Level to Level 1.
