Initial Steps: Start by purchasing all available wood and tools from Lord Northburgh. Settle on a large, flat island with Cider and Hemp fertility, and at least two Stone and Iron Ore deposits. Build woodcutters, Fisherman's Huts, and housing, then raise taxes to 'Happy' or 'Calm' as needed. Build Cider farms once 60 peasants settle.

Exploration and Trade: Send your Flagship to explore the archipelago, claim good islands, and visit Northburgh to buy a Diplomatic Scroll. Deliver this to Al Zahir to receive a Caravel with Tools, Wood, and Dates, which can aid in building or starting your Oriental settlement.

Resource Production: Prioritize producing Stone and Tools. Block citizen ascension after reaching 240 capacity to conserve tools. Build Stonemason's huts and your Tool chain (Iron Ore mine, Charcoal burner, Iron smelter, Tool maker's workshops).

Citizen Needs: Once Tool production is stable, satisfy Citizen needs for Linen Garments (Hemp Farms, Weavers Hut) and Ropes (Hemp Farms, Rope Yards). Set up a second Tool chain. Implement fire protection with Fire stations once you pass 355 Citizens.

Developing the Orient: Settle a large Oriental island with Spices and Dates fertility. Build Nomad Houses (10 needed for 150 Nomads) and Date plantations. Establish Spice plantations and set up a trade route to deliver Spices to your northern island. Aim for at least 440 Nomads for building access and honor rewards. Build Milk farms and consider a Stonecutter's hut.

Developing the North: With Spices, Citizens can progress to Patrician level. Settle a new northern island with Brine deposits, a river, and Crop/Herb fertility. Produce Bread (Crop Farms, Mill, Bakery), Beer (Monastery Garden, Crop Farm, Monastery Brewery), and Leather Jerkins (Pigs, Salt Mine, Salt Works, Charcoal Burner, Tannery). Upgrade trading fleets of Al Vizir and Northburgh with Honor points.
