Follow the Waitress in Alan Wake 2: The Lake House Episode 1: Number One Fan to rescue the Writer from his evil twin brother.
Walkthrough
- 1Start at Nite's Diner. Grab the coffee pot and serve customers by topping up their cups and dispensing advice.
- 2Collect dirty plates from tables and dispense more advice.
- 3Return the coffee pot and plates to the service window.
- 4Speak to the man by the juke box who needs a book recommendation.
- 5Go down the back corridor and through the first door on the right.
- 6Select one of the Writer's books from the desk. The Writer will speak through a Billy Bass plaque, stating he is in trouble. This is the first of three messages from the Writer.
- 7Return to the corridor and go through the door marked "employees only" to enter the kitchen.
- 8Continue through to the storeroom.
- 9Grab the hunting rifle and shotgun, unlocking the Accessorize! trophy. Also collect 40 rifle rounds, 60 shotgun shells, two Leaky Propane Tanks, and four lots of Get Up and Go Pills. The shotgun has automatic fire if you hold down R2 and the pills give you a full heal.
- 10Leave the diner and head towards the gate at the end of the street.
- 11Go through the gate to meet the Writer's twin brother.
- 12After responding to him, he will ride off on his motorbike.
- 13Look up to spot an axe thrower on a raised platform. Shoot the gas canister next to him to kill him. Keep an eye out for other explosive canisters in the boatyard; kite enemies so they are grouped close to one and shoot it to detonate it. Catching three enemies in one blast unlocks a trophy.
- 14Deal with two more enemies approaching from the front.
- 15Defeat four enemies coming from your left.
- 16Defeat approximately five enemies breaking through the fence on your right.
- 17Grab supplies from containers, being careful of further enemy attacks.
- 18Head through the hole in the fence and follow the flaming trails left by the twin's motorcycle.
- 19Grab supplies from emergency cabinets along the path.
- 20When approaching a bridge, take out the axe thrower on the platform to the right with your rifle.
- 21Cross the bridge and defeat a trio of Haters by a hut.
- 22Go inside the hut and grab supplies.
- 23Continue along the path and fight off another pair of enemies.
- 24When the path forks, take the left path.
- 25Head down some stairs and keep following the path until another fork.
- 26Take the right-hand path to find a shrine to the Writer. Read all three pages from the book to find a second message from him.
- 27Return to the main path and follow it to a cabin.
- 28Ignore the suspicious motorbike and go up to the cabin.
- 29Go through the door. The Writer will address you, but it is a ruse.
- 30Grab supplies from downstairs rooms.
- 31Go upstairs to find the twin is not there. Read a note outlining the twin's plans and some poetry in the other bedroom.
- 32Leave the cabin and head to the nearby beach to confront the twin.
- 33Demand to know where the Writer is.
- 34Kill enemies emerging from the water and more coming down the path.
- 35Follow the flaming tracks back along the path, fending off attacking enemies.
- 36Enemies will stop coming when you reach the stairs.
- 37Approach the stairs for a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) where a deer addresses you in the Writer's voice. This unlocks the I Could Listen to Him All Day trophy.
- 38At the top of the stairs, follow the twin's trail up a steep slope to the mansion grounds.
- 39Confront the Bad Boy. He attacks with a force wave and exploding hearts. Evade the force wave and shoot the hearts before they reach you. Use your shotgun to fire at the Bad Boy when opportunities arise.
