Explore structure types in Captain Blood, including mystical sites, the Bloodforge (costing 40 mana), and more.
Structures are a key element of maps in Captain Blood, with some acting as impassable terrain and others serving vital roles in unit production and resource management. Mystical sites are special buildings created by transforming four Basal Golems on a foundation, and they are used to produce the game's various units. Most maps begin with at least one mystical site. Two unit-based structures, the Bloodforge and the Well of Immortals, are also included.
Mystical Sites and Unit-Based Structures
Bloodforge
The Bloodforge is impervious to damage and produces Basal Golems at a cost of 40 mana. You can also transform other controlled units back into Basal Golems at your Bloodforge. Protecting the Bloodforge is crucial for mana generation, as it is the sole source of Basal Golems. Enemy units on your Bloodforge take continuous damage, and friendly Basal Golems on it gain +1 attack and +1 defense. To create a Basal Golem, no units must be standing on the Bloodforge. The Bloodforge does not count as a structure for "destroy all structures" objectives.
Foundation
Foundations are impervious to damage and have four spaces. These spaces must all be occupied by Basal Golems of the same faction for the foundation to transform into a mystical site. Mystical sites can only be built on foundations, and if a mystical site is destroyed, a foundation remains, allowing for another to be built.
Arbor Lodge
With 240 hit points, the Arbor Lodge is used to transform Basal Golems into Druids, Rangers, Griffons, and Nymphs.
Barracks
The Barracks have 360 hit points and are used to transform Basal Golems into Warriors, Rangers, and Paladins. In the Harvest of Horror campaign, or on maps used in that campaign, they can also transform Basal Golems into Goblins.
Crypt
The Crypt has 300 hit points and is used to transform Basal Golems into Zombies, Gargoyles, Ghouls, and Wraiths. In the Harvest of Horror campaign, or on maps used in that campaign, they are used to create Harpies instead of Gargoyles.
Runestone
With 300 hit points, the Runestone is used to transform Basal Golems into Wizards, Gnomes, Stone Golems, and Wyrms.
Temple
The Temple has 240 hit points and is used to transform Basal Golems into Clerics, Furies, and Paladins. In the Harvest of Horror campaign, or on maps used in that campaign, they can also transform Basal Golems into Enchanters.
Well of Immortals
The Well of Immortals is impervious to damage, cannot be destroyed, and does not count as a true mystical site. It appears only on the final level of the random campaign mode. The Well of Immortals transforms Basal Golems into a random unit, with the unit type visible before transformation begins. You can cancel and restart the transformation if the unit is undesirable, though the mana cost of the original unit is not refunded. Both players can use the Well of Immortals.
Other Structures
Aqueduct
This structure has 750 hit points and appears only in one mission during the Nuts and Bolts campaign as an objective.
Banishing Stone
Banishing stones have 200 hit points and are featured on a single map, typically serving as a destroy or defend objective. Destroying them reveals the prisoner pit terrain beneath.
Bridge
Bridges are impervious to damage and are often strategically important, frequently guarded by Trolls.
Camp
Camps are impervious to damage and appear on a single map as a drop-off point for objective-based items.
Cauldron
Cauldrons are impervious to damage and appear in the Harvest of Horror campaign or on related random campaign maps. The owner can access unique units like the Goblin, Enchanter, and Harpy if they possess the appropriate mystical site. Units walking over or dropped into a cauldron are destroyed, granting the owner 20 mana.
Gate
Gates have 500 to 999 hit points and serve as strong barriers to blockade passages, typically found in front of important areas and choke points.
Great Column
This unremarkable structure is impervious to damage and acts as an obstacle. It appears in a single map in only a few places.
Great Furnace
The Great Furnace is impervious to damage and acts as an obstacle. It is featured on a single map and has flame spout tiles that occasionally blow out flames, but it serves no purpose.
