The Avatar is one of the most dangerous enemies XCOM 2 players will face. These powerful alien units are a significant threat on the battlefield, capable of dealing massive damage and disrupting your squad's formations. Understanding their capabilities and how to counter them is crucial for success.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• High Health and Armor: Avatars possess a large health pool and significant armor, making them difficult to take down quickly.
• Powerful Abilities: They can teleport short distances, create psionic shields, and unleash devastating melee attacks.
• Vulnerability to Specific Damage Types: While resistant to conventional damage, they can be more susceptible to psionic attacks and certain high-damage weapon types.

Phases:

1. Initial Engagement: Avatars often start by teleporting into a strategic position, attempting to isolate and engage individual soldiers.
2. Shield Deployment: They may deploy a psionic shield to protect themselves from incoming fire, requiring players to break the shield before dealing significant damage.
3. Aggressive Assault: Once their shield is down or if they are cornered, Avatars will aggressively pursue and attack soldiers, often using their teleportation to close the distance.
