This section provides various hints and tips to help you succeed in Valkyrie Profile. Learn about useful spells, invincibility strategies, and effective weapon usage.

Freya's Weapon: Removing Freya's weapon in the Artolian Ruins grants her a more useful attack.

Fleeing: Fleeing battles works approximately 70% of the time. Only one character needs to flee to escape, allowing others to use support actions like healing or casting spells before escaping. Once fled, the monster is permanently removed from the screen.

Useful Spells: Sap Guard and Might Reinforce are highly effective against bosses, as stat-reducing spells function on them in Valkyrie Profile. While Might Reinforce and Spell Reinforce state they can be used once per battle, they can actually be used multiple times, though their effect only occurs every ten turns. Guard Reinforce is limited to one use per battle.

Invincibility Strategies:

• Method 1: Guts level 8, Auto-Item (with Union Plume at 100%), and Angel Curio.
• Method 2: Sap Power, Guard Reinforce, Tri-Emblem, and Protect Jewel. This setup significantly reduces damage from powerful attacks like Iseria Queen's Empress Massacre to around 30 damage.
• Method 3: Using a Lucid Potion prevents enemies from targeting you. Attacking by pressing a character's button will break the effect, but menu commands (accessed by pressing Select) can still be used while remaining protected, including casting magic.

Instant Kill Weapons: Weapons that can instantly kill enemies with elemental weaknesses are very useful, especially Grimrist found early in the game. These include:

• Grimrist (Lightning)
• Infernas (Fire)
• Shadzard (Lightning)
• Glare Sword (Poison)
• Icicle Sword (Ice)
• Gram (Dark)
• Demon Sword "Nefarious" (Ice)
• Soul Sword "Kusanagi" (Holy)
• Dainslef (Holy)
• Glance Reviver (Dark)

The last four weapons are of limited utility due to the scarcity of enemies weak to their elements late in the game.

Reflect Sorcery: If an enemy is protected by Reflect Sorcery, start a combo with a weapon attack followed by a spell. Reflect Sorcery does not negate spells cast within a combo.
