Summoning & Defeating Eikthyr

Learn how to summon and defeat Eikthyr, the first boss in Valheim. This guide covers preparation, strategies, and rewards for this crucial early-game encounter.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Weaknesses: Piercing
• Resistances: Blunt, Slashing
• Attacks: Antler Charge, Stomp, Lightning Strike

Phases:

1. Eikthyr will charge at the player, attempting to gore them with his antlers.
2. Eikthyr will stomp the ground, creating a shockwave that damages players in a small radius.
3. Eikthyr will summon lightning strikes from the sky, targeting the player's location.

Strategy:

• Preparation: Gather Flint for a flint spear or axe, hunt Boars for Leather Scraps and meat, and craft a Crude Bow with Wood Arrows. Consider crafting a shield for melee. Upgrade your weapons at a Workbench with a Chopping Block.
• Ranged Combat: Maintain distance and use your bow. Dodge his charges and stomps. Aim for his body.
• Melee Combat: If using melee, equip a shield and a spear. Block his charges and counter-attack during his recovery. Be prepared to dodge his stomp and lightning strikes.
• Summoning: Find the Sacrificial Stones in the Meadows. Place two Deer Trophies on the altars to summon Eikthyr.
