    Upon hearing a noise, you can choose to shoot at the person you see through your rifle's scope. This will make a minor change to a character's appearance later.

    You must perform an action sequence. You can fail the QTEs (Quick Time Events) as much as you like, as Mike cannot die at this point.

    Press TRIANGLE at the top of the ramp.

    • Safe Way:

    At the top, Mike sees someone walking away. He may point the gun at him and you can choose whether to shoot or not. Your gun will be out of ammo regardless of this choice, and also regardless of whether you shot up the elevator shaft earlier.

    As the man walks away, the shutter begins to close. If you were quick enough climbing the mine shaft, you get a QTE.

    Press the TRIANGLE BUTTON to make Mike slide under the shutter.

    If you were too slow or failed the QTEs while climbing the mineshaft, the shutter closes quickly, and Mike takes an alternate route. After dropping down the ledge, walk towards the front of the screen and follow the path until Mike's lighter goes out. Flick it back on.
Tips
  • You can fail QTEs during the mine sequence without consequence for Mike's survival.
  • Whether you shoot the person at the top of the mines or not, your gun will run out of ammo.
  • Sliding under the shutter requires a successful QTE if you climbed quickly.
