When: Matt and Emily are being backed off of the edge of a cliff by a herd of deer.
How to achieve: When Matt is stopped by a deer, attack it with the axe. After the herd backs Matt off the cliff, fail any of the subsequent QTEs to climb back up. Emily will continue alone.
Details: Matt falls down the cliff, hitting a rock at the bottom. Blood splatters as he dies instantly. Emily watches his corpse being dragged away into the mines.
MATT'S DEATH #2
Chapter: 6
When: Matt and Emily are at the collapsing fire tower.
How to achieve: Matt must have survived the deer incident and not have the flare gun (Emily has it, or Matt used it in Chapter 5). Choose to save Emily BOTH times when the tower collapses. If Matt has the flare gun, fail the QTE. He will fall into the mines and be attacked by a Wendigo.
Details: Matt falls deeper into the mines and is attacked by a Wendigo. He is speared through the jaw with a metal hook and dies from blood loss.
MATT'S DEATH #3
Chapter: 10
When: Matt is in the mines (with or without Jessica).
How to achieve: Matt must have survived Chapter 6. While being chased by the Wendigo, fail a QTE or let the timer run out. Alternatively, hide and fail the "DON'T MOVE" QTE.
Details: The Wendigo pounds Matt's face in, caving in his nose and mouth. His eyes flit around before life leaves his body.
