This mode is designed for those who have mastered the initial journey and are ready to delve deeper into the mysteries of the Fold, retaining certain progress while facing new threats and uncovering hidden lore. Prepare for a significantly more demanding experience, particularly if you choose the higher difficulty settings unlocked in this mode.

Unlocking New Game+

New Game+ becomes available immediately after completing the main story campaign on any difficulty. Upon finishing the final chapter, you will be prompted to save your clear data. Select "New Game+" from the main menu, and then choose your clear save file to begin your new journey.

What Carries Over

Starting a New Game+ run allows you to retain several key elements from your previous playthrough, giving you a head start but not making the new challenges trivial:

• Acquired Abilities: All unlocked Fold Abilities and their upgrades (e.g., Asha's Embrace II, Whisper Step III) will be available from the start of the Prologue: Verge of History.
• Memory Fragments: All collected Memory Fragments and their associated lore entries will remain unlocked in your Codex. This is crucial for completing any lore-related achievements you may have missed.
• Cosmetic Unlocks: Any outfits, character customizations, or visual effects purchased or unlocked during your first playthrough will be accessible from the beginning.
• Currency: A percentage of your unspent Aether Shards (typically 50-75%, depending on chosen difficulty) will carry over. This allows for early upgrades but won't fully fund all new abilities.
• Weapon Schematics: All discovered weapon schematics (e.g., Fold-Infused Blade, Resonance Gauntlets) and their associated crafting recipes will be available at the nearest crafting station.

New Game+ Exclusive Content

Beyond the increased difficulty, New Game+ introduces several compelling reasons to replay the adventure:

1. Lunatic Mode Difficulty

The most significant addition is the "Lunatic Mode" difficulty setting. This mode dramatically rebalances enemy encounters:

• Increased Enemy Aggression: Foes will detect you from further away and react more quickly to your presence.
• Enhanced Enemy Abilities: Standard enemies gain new attack patterns or resistances. For example, the Grimleal Zealots encountered in Chapter 8: The Grimleal may now possess a temporary shield that requires a specific Fold Ability to break.

• Resource Scarcity: Healing items and Aether Shards will be scarcer in the environment.

2. Hidden Quests and Lore

Several new side quests and hidden lore entries become accessible only in New Game+:

• The Seeker's Journal: Scattered throughout the world are pages from "The Seeker's Journal." Collecting all entries unlocks a deeper understanding of the Fold's origins and a unique cosmetic item: the Ancient Seeker's Robes. Look for these pages in previously inaccessible areas or behind new environmental puzzles, such as the sealed chamber near the Shepherds' Encampment in Chapter 2: Shepherds.
• Paralogue 5: The Echoing Void: This entirely new paralogue mission becomes available after completing Chapter 6: Forseer. It delves into a previously unexplored pocket of the Fold, introducing unique enemy types and culminating in a challenging encounter that rewards the powerful Void-Touched Amulet. Access this paralogue via a newly opened portal in the Whispering Caves.

3. Legendary Gear Blueprints

New Game+ offers the chance to acquire blueprints for legendary-tier equipment. These items provide significant stat boosts and unique passive abilities:

• Heart of the Fold Gauntlets Blueprint: Found within a hidden chest in the Warrior Realm during Chapter 3: Warrior Realm, accessible only by using the Fold Shift ability to phase through a specific crumbling wall.
• Asha's Legacy Blade Blueprint: Dropped by a new optional mini-boss, the Corrupted Guardian, which appears in the ruins during Chapter 10: Renewal on Lunatic Mode.
