Walkthrough

    Enter the first area and shoot the crocodile (1) in the pool.

    Dive in, swim to the other side, and pull up on the right. Two lions await; one near the building entrance to the right (2) and one to the left (3). Stay right to only engage the first lion initially. Retreat to the water if they get too close.

    To deal with the third lion inside the building (4), enter and go left. Stand on the first step, roll onto the second, then quickly retreat to the water to fight it safely.

    Head to the left side of the building and study the path up: Run/jump onto the first block, pull up to the ledge, side jump right and roll to the next ledge, then get onto the higher block, and finally pull up to the higher ledge. Practice this sequence as it's needed for quick escapes.

    Stop at step #4 of the climb, follow the lower ledge to its end, and retrieve a large Medi Pack (1).

    Backtrack to the higher ledge (#5) and follow the path until you see an opening to the south.

    Before entering the opening, slide down the ledge in front of it. Walk to the NW corner of the next raised surface and perform a long running diagonal jump, followed by a standing jump, to land in a cave for Secret #1 (shotgun shells) (2).

    Return to the gap, hop through, and kill the two crocodiles (5, 6).

    Drop into the pit for a small Medi Pack (3).

    Climb out of the pit, jump/grab the crevice to the north, shimmy right, and pull up into the opening. Head into the cave for Secret #2 (shotgun shells) (4).

    Drop/grab out of the cave, continue right until you can stand, then drop through the hole. Pause before climbing the stairs to deal with Pierre.

Option 1: Trap Pierre

  1. The switch in front of you opens a gate leading back to the area where you found the first Secret and fought the optional third lion.
  2. Throw the switch to open the gate. Go up the stairs and roll across the second step from the top to trigger Pierre.
  3. Run back down the stairs, turn right, and run through the open gate.
  4. Outside the building, turn right and repeat the climb up the rocks and through the hole in the wall. Pierre will pursue but cannot follow you onto the building or through the rock wall.
  5. Loop back to the switch, throw it closed, and retreat to the area by the steps. Pierre can shoot through the gate, but he will be trapped outside for the rest of the level.
Tips
  • Trapping Pierre saves health but requires backtracking. Fighting him twice is faster but risks more damage.
  • Most enemies can be defeated from safe positions, allowing you to conserve ammo by using pistols.
  • Be cautious of careless falls, especially during climbing sequences.
  • The level has 4 Save Crystals in New Game+ mode, with some long stretches between them.
  • It's advisable to start New Game+ with ample shotgun shells, Uzis, and Magnum ammo.
