Skill Points and Skill Trees:
- Skill Points are primarily earned by levelling up.
- An additional Skill Point is earned by discovering and using a Place of Power for the first time.
- Skill Points can be invested in four Skill Trees: Combat Skills, Signs, Alchemy, and General Skills.
- Combat Skills: Improves melee and ranged combat, increases damage, enhances hardiness (armor and health), and provides a passive bonus towards Adrenaline Point gain.
- Signs: Increases the effectiveness, duration, or adds functionality to Geralt's five signs (AARD, AXII, IGNI, QUEN, YRDEN), and provides a passive bonus towards Stamina regeneration in combat.
- Alchemy: Improves the effectiveness of Bombs, Potions, and Oils; reduces Toxicity levels of Potions; allows increased Toxicity tolerance; and reduces Toxicity quicker. Provides a passive bonus towards Potion Duration time.
- General Skills: Offers boosts to Health/Armour, a minor health regeneration perk, and bonuses to the crossbow and Adrenaline generation. This tree is half the size of the other three.
