    Use the generator to cross the gap via the climbing wall. Cross the next gap with a running jump and descend the rope to the bottom of the Chasm Cave.

    Be cautious of enemies and terrain. A bug may cause one-shot kills. Sprint to the south-east end and squeeze through the gap to exit.

    Avoid falling into the next area's hole. A narrow ledge leads to a hole in the wall behind a child's sketch. Do not use dynamite here.

    Find OLD PHOTO 4 on the floor before the hole.

    Locate the air canister by the rope and find booze in the water. Follow the tunnel to a tent and campfire. The 'CHASM CAVE ENTRANCE' PHOTOGRAPH is in the tent. Completing this objective should trigger the EXPLORE THE CHASM CAVE notification.

    Note: The game may transition to Sinkhole Cave, but this guide considers everything before the last Obsidian Door part of Chasm Cave. Expect more cannibals and mutants; harvest them for food and bones if necessary.

    Continue up the tunnel, past cannibals guarding meds and snacks. Smash down a plank wall to face more cannibals. Consider using the Chainsaw.

    Enter a large junction cavern with Virginias, cannibals, and babies. Hug the right wall to find a Rebreather pool with a lit generator. Swim down to another generator, then swim north-west to a large campsite with supplies (including Old Gun ammo), a save point, and the MODERN BOW. Archive save here.

    Return to the junction cave and proceed anti-clockwise to a south-west tunnel. This leads past a dead-end Rebreather tunnel with air canisters, sodas, and meds.

    Continue up the main tunnel to a lore cave guarded by cannibals. Find a painting of a man leading children, red paint, and the 'SHE'S NOT DEAD, SHE IS SLEEPING' NOTE. Dynamite is also found here. Sprinting to the red paint can disable cannibals.

    Return to the junction cave and turn right. Go past fetishes to another plank wall with more cannibals. Run past them and jump into the water.

    Follow the water north-east to find the 'SIDE EFFECTS' VIDEO TAPE among papers. Use dynamite to blow up the wall behind it, revealing a dangerous cave. Bait enemies to fall down past the climbing wall to avoid fighting them directly.

Notes:

  • Old Photo 8 cannot be picked up in the current version. Old Photo 6's location is unknown, but can be obtained with the 'Inventory Mod' (F4 > Other > PhotoCache6).
  • You can wash blood off in the pool of water at the bottom of the Chasm Cave.
  • Falling into the water from above can allow you to skip the entire cavern, but this is difficult.
  • Be wary of potential bugs, such as one-shot kills from full health with armor.
  • Cannibals can be harvested for limbs (food) and bones (for Bone Armour), though a better bone farming spot exists later.
  • Virginias can be baited into the water to sink and die, but their Creepy Armour cannot be harvested.
  • The cave behind the dynamite wall is very dangerous. Luring enemies to fall down the climbing wall is a strategy to avoid direct combat.
