Morrowind is full of strange little side stories and unexpected encounters. This section covers a couple of the more peculiar ones, so let's dive in and see what oddities await!

The Beauty And The Bandit

This quest is a bit of a romantic comedy, Morrowind-style. Northwest of Pelagiad, you'll stumble upon Maurrie Aurmine, a Breton woman who's had a rather unusual encounter. A bandit stole her jewels, but apparently, he also stole her heart! She wants you to get her jewels back, but also to deliver her glove to the bandit as a token of her affection. Yes, it's as weird as it sounds.

The bandit in question is Nelos Onmar, and he's hanging out in Pelagiad. Your best bet for finding a bandit in a small town like this is, of course, the local pub. Head to the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad and look for Nelos. When you talk to him about Maurrie's glove, he'll get all sentimental, admitting he regrets robbing her and that he found her beautiful. He wants to see her again and will give you a note to deliver back to her.

Make your way back northwest to Maurrie. If you're unsure of the way, don't forget to check your menu map – it's a lifesaver for retracing your steps. Give her the note from Nelos. She'll be thrilled and will thank you profusely, suggesting you visit her friend, Barnand Erelie, in Tel Branora. It seems Maurrie's playing matchmaker!

The journey to Tel Branora might be a bit of a trek. Once you arrive, find Barnand Erelie in Sethan's Tradehouse. Ask him about Maurrie Aurmine, and he'll thank you for bringing the unlikely couple together. As a reward, he'll give you 3 Exclusive Restore Health potions. A strange quest, indeed!

The Scholars and the Mating Kagouti

This quest starts on the road just east of the Fields of Kummu. You'll find a fellow named Thoronor who seems a bit distressed because his friend, Edras Oril, is missing. Edras was traveling with Thoronor to Vivec when he heard a strange animal noise and went to investigate. That was hours ago, and Thoronor hasn't heard from him since.

Offer to help Thoronor, and continue heading east. You'll soon encounter a few kagouti – take them out. Just a bit further along, slightly off the path to the left, you'll find Edras. He'll be relieved to see you. Talk to him, and he'll ask you to escort him back to his friend.

Now, you need to lead Edras back west to Thoronor. Walk slowly and keep an eye on Edras to make sure he follows you. Once the two friends are reunited, your journal will update. Chat with Thoronor again, and he'll reward you with the Amulet of Slowfalling. It's always good to help out a lost scholar, especially when there's a magical trinket involved!
