Welcome to our beginner's guide for Still Wakes the Deep! This section will cover the fundamental mechanics and tips to help you get started on the Beira oil rig.

Controls & Movement:

• Use W / A / S / D to move.
• Hold Shift to run. Be mindful of the 'Less Than 10 Minutes' achievement for running duration.
• Press Control to crouch.
• Interact with objects using the Left Mouse Button (LMB).
• Climb ladders by holding RMB and using W or S. You can descend quickly by releasing RMB.

Objectives & Interaction:

• Your current objective is displayed in the top-left corner. Press Tab to view its location on screen with an arrow or orange dot.
• 'Hints' (white dots) indicate interactable objects. It's recommended to keep these enabled.
• Blue handles signify gates you can use. Yellow is used for paths and interactable items.

Exploration & Achievements:

• Explore all accessible rooms (numbered 101-113 in Accommodation) for context and potential achievements.
• The 'McLeery' achievement can be unlocked by spending time in the shower room.
• Talk to all available crew members, including Trots, O'Connor, Gibbo, Brodie, Raffs, Addair, and the welder on the Main Deck, to work towards the 'Social Butterfly' achievement.
• The 'All Beans and Forgiveness' achievement is unlocked by talking to Roy in the Canteen.
