1. Zaton - Initial Gear: You begin with a PMm, AKM-74/2U, Echo detector, Sunrise Suit, medkits, bandages, anti-rad, food, ammo, and grenades. While better than previous games, this loadout is insufficient for the Zone's dangers.
2. Zaton - Skadovsk: Upon arriving in Zaton, immediately head to Skadovsk. Purchase a Bear detector from the merchants.
3. Zaton - Sultan's Mission: Accept and complete "The Hit" mission from Sultan in Skadovsk.
4. Zaton - Beard's Mission: After checking in with Sultan, sleep, then accept the Dredge Station mission from Beard.
5. Zaton - Boiler Anomaly: Proceed to the Boiler anomaly. Assist Petruha, and he will reward you with a Fireball artifact (do not equip it due to radiation).
6. Zaton - Artifact Hunting: Utilize your Bear detector to find artifacts in various anomalies across Zaton. Stash a Kolobok and a Meat Chunk for a future key mission. Sell excess artifacts to accumulate funds.
7. Zaton - G36 Purchase: Return to Skadovsk and order the scoped G36 assault rifle from Nimble for 20,000 RU. With diligent artifact hunting, you should have 30,000-40,000 RU.
8. Zaton - Key Missions: Complete the Dredge Station, Transaction, Snag's container, mercenary camp, and Grouse's missing stalkers missions.
9. Zaton - Dock Cranes & Izumrudnoye: After acquiring the G36, visit the Dock Cranes to find the IL 86 and its ammunition on a white boat. Unload the weapon for extra ammo. Repeat this process for a stash under a house in Izumrudnoye.
10. Zaton - Sawmill & Upgrades: Upgrade your equipment, search all stashes in Zaton, and clear the Sawmill of zombies. Loot them and retrieve the sniper ammo and basic work tools from the red building.
