Effective map control and positioning are fundamental to winning in Spectre Divide. It's not just about individual aim, but about understanding the flow of the map and denying enemies advantageous positions:

• High Ground Advantage: Always prioritize taking and holding high ground. It provides better sightlines, makes you harder to hit, and often offers cover. Characters with vertical mobility excel here.
• Controlling Choke Points: Identify the narrow passages and doorways on each map. These are critical choke points. Use area-of-effect abilities, defensive characters, or coordinated fire to control these areas and prevent enemy pushes.
• Flanking Routes: Learn all possible flanking routes. Using these to get behind enemies can break their defenses and create easy eliminations. Be mindful of enemy flankers and have a plan to counter them.
• Line of Sight (LoS): Understand where enemies can see you from and where you can see them. Use cover effectively to break LoS when taking damage or to surprise enemies.
• Objective Awareness: Always know where the objective is and how to best defend or attack it. Positioning around the objective is often different from general skirmishing.
• Sound Cues: Pay attention to footsteps, ability sounds, and weapon fire. These audio cues provide vital information about enemy positions and movements, allowing you to anticipate their actions.

Good positioning minimizes incoming damage, maximizes your damage output, and creates opportunities for your team. Always think about where you should be relative to your teammates and enemies.
