Alright, let's talk about getting good at fighting in Sonic Frontiers! You've got this system called Skills that's super important for taking down enemies and those big Guardians you'll run into. Think of it like leveling up Sonic's moveset. How Skills Work Basically, you unlock these Skills by collecting Skill Pieces. Each piece fills up a Skill Point gauge you'll see on your HUD. You get Skill Pieces by just exploring the Open Zone, beating up bad guys, or smashing open objects. Keep an eye out for a flickering "!" sign on your gauge – that means you've earned enough points to unlock a new Skill! To actually grab the Skill, you'll need to pause the game by pressing +/ OPTIONS/!Xbox-One-Menu-Button and head to the Skills menu. Here, you'll see a Skill Tree. It's like a map of all the abilities you can get. Skills you can't get yet will be grayed out, and the ones ready for unlocking will have that "!" on them. Each Skill costs a certain number of Skill Points. Just select the one you want and press !Switch a/!Cross/!A button to unlock it. Skills You Get From Friends There are also a few special Skills that don't need Skill Points. You get these by rescuing Sonic's friends out in the Starfall Islands. For instance, if you free Amy Rose from a Cyber Cage on Kronos Island, you'll automatically unlock the Grand Slam Skill. Pretty neat, huh? Practicing Your New Moves Once you unlock a Skill, you can totally practice it! You can head into the training simulator anytime. You can also practice while the game is loading a Cyber Space stage or when you're heading back to the Open Zone. It's a good way to make sure you've got the timing down. Using Skills in Combat Remember, you can only use these Skills in the Open Zone areas on the Starfall Islands. They won't work in the Cyber Space stages. For regular enemies, you can often get by with your basic attacks and combos, but Skills can really spice things up. Against Guardians, though, you'll definitely want to learn their attack patterns and weak spots. Using the right Skills at the right time will be key to taking them down efficiently, especially as you get to tougher areas where enemies and Guardians become much stronger. Some Skills aren't just direct attacks; they can boost your existing moves, like Phantom Rush, or help you counter attacks with Recovery Smash. Keep experimenting to see how they all work together!
