They're basically your first real taste of combat in Satisfactory, and while they can be a bit of a nuisance, they're totally manageable once you know what you're dealing with.

Think of them as your introduction to the planet's wildlife – some of it's chill, and some of it wants to make you its next meal. These Hogs are the latter.

Hogs and Alpha Hogs are aggressive creatures you'll encounter early in Satisfactory. Hogs are smaller and attack in groups, while the Alpha Hog is a larger, tougher version that hits harder. Both are weak to ranged attacks and can be kited (lured around while you attack them). Prioritize dodging their charges and melee swings, and use your starting Rebar Gun or build some simple defenses.

• Hog: Smaller, faster, attacks in packs. Relatively low health.
• Alpha Hog: Larger, slower but hits much harder, higher health. Can be a bit intimidating at first.

• Kiting: This is your best friend. When you see a Hog or Alpha Hog, backpedal or strafe away while firing your Rebar Gun. They have to get close to attack, and if you keep your distance, you can often out-range their melee attacks.
• Dodging: If they charge, try to strafe to the side at the last second. Their charge is telegraphed, so watch for the wind-up.
• Using the Environment: You can sometimes lure them into environmental hazards or use terrain to your advantage, like leading them around large rocks or through narrow passages where they might get stuck briefly.
• Building Defenses: If you're having a really tough time, consider building a few walls or foundations to create a small enclosure or a chokepoint. You can lure them into a corner and then blast away.
• Focus Fire: If you're dealing with a group of Hogs and an Alpha Hog, try to take out the smaller Hogs first so you don't get surrounded. Then, focus on the Alpha.
• Melee is Risky: While you can fight them with your personal grinder, it's generally much riskier due to their speed and damage. Stick to ranged if possible.
