How to Open the Locked Kitchen Door in Rhodes Hill

Alright, so you've hit a bit of a snag in Rhodes Hill and can't get into the Kitchen, huh? Don't sweat it, this is a common roadblock. To get through that locked door, you're going to need the Pantry Key. The tricky part is that this key drops from the Chef, and he's a real tough nut to crack, especially early on.

The good news is, once you've unlocked the East Wing and progressed a bit, taking him down becomes much more manageable. Your main goal is to get your hands on the East Wing Keycard. You'll snag this after you've finished up in the West Wing and made your way to the Chairman's Office on the second floor.

Once you've got that card, head into the East Wing. Follow the hallway, and it'll lead you to an Examination Room. Inside, you'll find the Hemolytic Injector. The game will probably nudge you to use it on the Scientist Zombie in there, but feel free to save it if you want.

You'll soon learn about the crafting system, which is super handy for making more Injectors to deal with special enemies. Keep pushing forward down the hallway, and you'll encounter another light zombie, similar to the ones in the West Wing. You'll need to trick it to get past it. This leads you to a Blood Lab. Here, you'll find a research item that needs to go into the Blood Analyzer. Solve that little puzzle, and it'll unlock the crafting recipes for pistol bullets and, more importantly, the Hemolytic Injector. You can craft one using one scrap and 60 Infected Blood, which you can now collect from that room.

Take Down the Chef for the Pantry Key

With a spare Injector in hand, it's time to go back for the Chef. You'll notice he's now patrolling around the Parlor, which is part of the whole ordeal with getting the East Wing Keycard. Your best bet is to wait until he wanders near the shortcut that leads to the dark corridor by the Dining Room. This is your chance to sneak up on him. Remember, the Hemolytic Injector is a one-hit kill for him, just like all the other zombies. Once he's down, you'll nab an achievement for taking him out, and he'll drop the Pantry Key.

Grab that Pantry Key and head back to the Kitchen. You'll finally be able to unlock that door and see what's inside.

Rewards Inside the Kitchen

The room you unlock is packed with goodies. There are even some rewards that set up Leon for later, and they're totally missable if you're not careful! Here's what you can expect:

• 1x Scrap
• An Ammo crate (I found 5 handgun ammo, but the amount can be a bit random)
• 1x 12.7x55mm Round
• Stakeout Takeout Charm: This bad boy boosts your knife's power and durability.
• Connoisseur Charm: You'll find this in a locked cabinet inside the Pantry Room itself, accessible by Leon. It increases the firepower of any weapon you attach it to.
• Two buckets of 50 Infected Blood

Seriously, getting into this room is super beneficial for both Grace and Leon, especially for snagging those powerful charms. Blades are fantastic for dealing with zombies or lasting longer when you're trying to break free from grabs. They're also a lifesaver if you're attempting a no-healing or no-crafting run, as Metal Blades can be pretty scarce otherwise.
