Resident Evil 2 (1998) starting items for Leon, Claire, Ada, and Sherry in Easy, Normal, and Arrange modes.

Starting Equipment by Mode:

Original Game:

• Easy Mode: Leon begins with a Combat Knife, a VP70 Handgun with 18 bullets, and 147 additional handgun bullets. Claire starts with a Combat Knife, a Browning HP handgun with 13 bullets, and 147 additional handgun bullets.
• Normal Mode: Leon receives a Combat Knife and a VK70 Handgun with 18 bullets. Claire is equipped with a Combat Knife and a Browning HP handgun with 13 bullets.

Arrange Game (for rookie players):

• Players begin with an unlimited Machine Gun.
• Additionally, unlimited Gatling Gun, Rocket Launcher, and the character's own weapons are available in the item box.

Standard Items by Character:

• Leon's standard item is the Lighter.
• Claire's standard item is the Lockpick.
• Ada's items include a Browning HP, Handgun bullets, and a First Aid Spray. Her standard item is a picture of her and another man (possibly John).
• Sherry's items include a First Aid Spray. Her standard item is a picture of her family.
