The Assault on Fort Mercer

After completing the prior missions, a new mission marker will appear on your map near Fort Mercer, but only between the in-game hours of 2pm and 10pm.

Climb into the stagecoach with the machine gun. You will be taken into the fort.

Once you regain control of John, use the machine gun to take out every bandit inside the fort. Keep an eye on the red dots on the radar (your minimap with nearby blips and threats marked) (your minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen) with nearby blips and threats marked) to track remaining enemies.

After the initial group is dealt with, keep your gun trained on the doorways to your right as reinforcements will arrive.

Once the reinforcements are eliminated, follow the marshal up the stairs at the back of the fort.

Use the cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) at the top of the stairs to outgun the remaining enemies.

Shoot any TNT crates you see scattered around the area for easier kills.

Once all enemies inside the fort are killed, you will reappear on the machine gun outside.

Watch for the red blips on the radar again and take out the wagons, horses, and any remaining loners.

There is more TNT outside; shoot these crates to make the fight easier.

After all enemies outside are killed, a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will play.

After the cutscene, loot the bodies for ammo and money.
