Gather Fuel: Collect gasoline and diesel from abandoned cars and gas stations. Store it in appropriate containers. This fuel will be essential for generators and vehicles.

Prepare Alternative Power: Find and secure generators. You will need fuel to run them. Ensure you have spare parts and the knowledge to maintain them. Consider solar panels as a quieter, long-term alternative if available.

Set Up Alternative Water Sources: Beyond collecting rainwater, consider finding wells or setting up water purifiers if you are near a suitable water source.

Fortify Your Base: Ensure your base is secure against zombies. With utilities down, you'll rely more on your base's defenses. Board up windows and reinforce doors.

Maintain Morale: Gather books, entertainment, and comfort items. Boredom and low morale can significantly impact your character's effectiveness.
