On September 19, 2022, a concept trailer "The Nhaga Eater" was released by Krafton, announcing the project and showcases the aesthetics and tone of the project. Concept artist Iain McCaig has earlier joined the project and serves as design director, while Son Kwangjae as art director.

In February 2023, Krafton announced that they are opening their first Canadian AAA game studio located in Montreal, Quebec, named "Krafton Montreal". Patrik Méthé is leading the studio along with some other industry veterans. On February 12, 2026, _Project Windless_ was re-revealed at Sony's _State of Play_ featuring a new trailer. The game won't be direct novel adaptation, but will tell the story of the King the Hero, a Rekon warrior from 1500 years ago who founded the Arajit Kingdom.
