This guide details the formulas used in Phantom Blade Zero to calculate Mana, Bordeaux, and Experience (EXP) gained from defeating enemies. These formulas are crucial for understanding and optimizing your progression.

Mana Formulas

The amount of Mana gained depends on the target's level and any applicable bonuses from titles or abilities.

Mana Formula 1 (Levels 1-40)

Formula: Mana = [(Target's Level + 2) * 3] * Bonus

Alternate Formula: Mana = {Floor[(Target Level - 0) / 1] * 3 + 6} * Bonus

Note: The first formula is valid for enemies with levels 40 or below.

Mana Formula 2 (Levels 41-200)

Formula: Mana = {Target's Level - Ceiling[(Target's Level - 40) / 2 - 2]} * 3 * Bonus

Alternate Formula: Mana = {Floor[(Target Level - 40) / 2] * 3 + 126} * Bonus

Mana Formula 3 (Levels 200-1000)

Formula: Mana = {Floor[(Target Level - 200) / 5] * 3 + 366} * Bonus

Note: There is an overlap at level 200, where both Formula 2 and Formula 3 yield the same result.

Mana Formula 4 (Levels 1000-9999)

Formula: Mana = {Floor[(Target Level - 1000) / 10] * 3 + 846} * Bonus

Bonus Calculation

The 'Bonus' multiplier is calculated as: Bonus = [1 + (% Increase * 0.01)].

This increase comes from titles or abilities like 'Mana Punch' or 'Profit Punch'. For example, a 20% increase from 'Mana Punch' results in a bonus of 1.2 (1 + 0.20). If multiple bonuses are active, their percentages are cumulative.

Bordeaux Formula

This formula calculates Bordeaux points.

Formula: Bordeaux = [(Target's Level + 3) * (Target's Level + 4) * BP * Bonus] / 20

Where 'BP' is the Parameter for the specific enemy, and 'Bonus' is calculated the same way as for Mana.

Experience Formula

This formula calculates Experience Points (EXP).

Formula: EXP = [Basic LV Amount * EP] / 10

Where 'EP' is the Parameter for the specific enemy.

Note: The exact EXP values needed for character leveling are not visible in-game, only a grey EXP bar. Calculations for EXP required for the next level, especially for higher levels (100-9999), are complex and have been compared to similar games like La Pucelle Tactics, but precise in-game values are difficult to determine.
