Alright, so you're starting to get the hang of things in Phantom Blade Zero, and now it's time to really start beefing up your character. The next big step is focusing on your skills. Basically, the more you use a skill, the higher its level gets, and the stronger it becomes. Think of it like this: a Level 20 Angel Slash is going to hit way harder than a Level 1 version, and the max level for any skill is 99.

Now, just using skills to level them up can be a super slow grind. The real trick to getting more powerful skills faster is by collecting objects from the stages you play and then fusing them together. Keep an eye on the skills attached to items you find during battles. If you see a leveled-up version of a skill you want, grab that item using your Bottlemails.

Here's a crucial thing to remember: any skill that's on an item *because of the item's specific title* will NEVER be leveled up. For example, if an item called 'Plasma SacredRck' comes with the skill 'Omega Thunder', that skill will always be at Level 0. Don't waste your time trying to find these skills at high levels on such items.

When you fuse skills, the new level follows a formula that's a bit of a mystery, but here's the key takeaway: it doesn't matter if you fuse a high-level skill into a low-level one or vice-versa. The resulting skill level will be the same. For instance, if you fuse a Level 20 Angel Slash into a weapon that has a Level 5 Angel Slash, you'll end up with a Level 24 Angel Slash, even if you fused the Level 5 into the Level 20.
