Alright, let's talk about Eve, one of the more tragic figures you'll encounter in NieR:Automata. He's the younger twin brother of Adam, and honestly, his story is deeply tied to his brother's fate. You'll first properly meet him right after you defeat Adam in Chapter 03. When Adam falls, Eve emerges from his wounds, a wild, naked, and long-haired figure. He's absolutely distraught and goes on a rampage, causing the area to collapse. You and 9S will have to make a hasty retreat as Eve carries Adam away. As you progress, you'll notice Adam and Eve start adopting human clothing. Adam goes for a white dress shirt, but Eve prefers to go topless, which is a pretty distinct look. ### Endings and Eve's Fate Eve's story really takes a turn after Adam's defeat. He becomes consumed by grief and rage, attacking 2B and 9S relentlessly. He even uses the lifeforce of other machine lifeforms to keep fighting. At one point, 9S hacks into Eve, trying to disable him. It's a rough encounter, and 9S even gets corrupted by Eve's influence, but he manages to incapacitate him. In the end, you'll see Eve kneeling before 2B, calling out for his brother one last time. 2B delivers the final blow, killing him. The strategy guide mentions that Pod 042 and Pod 153 later destroy Eve's body with lasers, on Pod 042's orders. There's a poignant moment in Ending B where Eve speaks to Adam, expressing that while he didn't mind fighting, he never wanted Adam to be hurt or lost. He wishes they could go somewhere quiet, together. If you get Ending C, Eve is likely destroyed when the tower collapses thanks to A2. However, in Ending D, if you haven't achieved Ending E yet, Eve might be wandering in space within the Ark with other machine lifeforms, searching for a new world. And in Ending E, the reformed consciousnesses of Adam and Eve are found on the Ark. They're free from malice and invite 9S to join them as they set off to explore new worlds. It's a surprisingly peaceful conclusion for them. ### NieR:Automata Ver1.1a In the anime adaptation, Eve's story largely mirrors the game. A notable difference is that he appears at the end of the fight between Adam and 2B in the Copied City, taking a fatal blow meant for Adam. Later, when Adam attacks the Resistance Camp, he pilots a giant humanoid machine in Eve's likeness.
