The MP40 Submachine Gun evolved from the MP38, which suffered from misfirings that could be lethal. A simple technical innovation to the hammer resolved this issue, leading to the creation of the MP40. This weapon is effective in close combat and simple in construction, making it inexpensive to produce due to its machine-stamped parts. Over 900,000 MP40s were mass-produced throughout the War before the Third Reich fell.

• This weapon will ‘kick’ a bit, meaning it requires a little time to re-center to where you were aiming. If you fire in quick, rapid succession, the weapon won’t have the proper time to re-center itself, simulating the effects of rapid fire that you can learn to adjust for, making it seem more life-like.
