Guide to Part 18 of Marvel's Blade: Navigate Niffleheim, defeat Ulik and Kurse, overcome Ymir, and battle Loki to free Odin. Includes item locations and objectives.
Walkthrough
- 1After defeating Executioner and Enchantress, Balder is freed. Return to the Courtyard of the Gods via the large doors and proceed to Warriors Hall to trigger a cutscene with Weasel, concluding the Black Widow subplot.
- 2The next destination is Niffleheim. Upon arriving at the Shore of Corpses, speak with Volla, who asks you to find her ring.
- 3From the starting position on the Shore of Corpses, go forward, turn 180 degrees left to find a Strike upgrade.
- 4Cross the frozen stream near the Strike upgrade and go all the way left to find a sketch book.
- 5Explore the area thoroughly. A Focus upgrade is located on a small island.
- 6You will encounter Ulik and Kurse gloating over Volla's ring, which they locked in a chest without the key.
- 7Defeat Kurse first, as he is easier. Ulik is tougher and highly resistant to physical and energy attacks; elemental damage (ice, fire, lightning) is recommended. Heroes like Thor, Storm, Human Torch, or Iceman are ideal.
- 8After defeating Ulik and Kurse, proceed to a cabin with a fire. Search the fire pit by pressing USE to find the key to the chest.
- 9Return to the chest, open it, and retrieve Volla's ring. Volla appears, tells you to keep the ring, and warns of impending death.
- 10Go back to the cabin and ascend the slope beside it. To the right, find a Shocker Simulator Disc. To the left, find a SAP. Look on top of the cabin for a Daredevil action figure. The entrance to Battleground is beyond the SAP.
- 11Upon entering Battleground, avoid catapult fire by moving out of the red circles on the ground. Light Watch Fires by standing near them and pressing USE to redirect catapult fire.
- 12The path forks. The shortest route is to the right. A Mighty character must push a boulder aside to reveal a Body upgrade. Destroy the small rocks the boulder rests on, then step behind the boulder to collect the upgrade.
- 13The path forks again. The shortest route is to the left. First, defeat the catapult crew, then use the catapult to destroy the boulders blocking the path.
- 14As you pass the broken boulders, collect a Body upgrade from the path. (An alternative route allows you to circle back and get this upgrade if you took the longer path).
- 15You will reach the entrance to Ymir's Domain. Immediately turn around and pick up a sketch book.
- 16Proceed down the path until Ymir appears. To defeat Ymir:
- 17Wait for a Frost Giant to emerge from the ice and destroy it quickly.
- 18Grab the spear it drops by standing near it and pressing USE.
- 19Wait for Ymir to slam his club, jump out of the way, then jump onto the club as it lands.
- 20A mini-game will begin. Press each key as shown on screen within approximately two seconds.
- 21After four keystrokes, you will be on Ymir's neck. Rapidly tap the shown key (likely SMASH) to drive the spear into Ymir's neck, after which you will be thrown to the ground.
- 22Repeat this process (four total mini-games) to defeat Ymir. Avoid Ymir's club strikes throughout the fight. Healing powers are recommended.
- 23After defeating Ymir, proceed to the Spire's Ascent. Find a Spider-Woman Simulator Disc, a Strike upgrade, and a Focus point.
- 24Continue to Raven's Spire. You will need to open a portal created by Loki.
- 25To open the portal, you must find and use the Spear of Heaven, Gungnir.
- 26Battle Loki to free Odin.
Tips
- Ulik is resistant to physical and energy attacks; use elemental damage.
- In Battleground, use Watch Fires to redirect catapult fire.
- When fighting Ymir, focus on completing the mini-games quickly and avoiding his club attacks.
- Ensure you have heroes with healing abilities for the Ymir fight.
