Monty Mole's Dodging Deke

Monty Mole is a Power sidekick, often overlooked in favor of Birdo. However, Monty's deke ability offers unique advantages.

1. The Item Dodge

Monty's deke allows him to dodge various items, including shells, Mushrooms, and Stars. By pressing the control pad when an item approaches, Monty can go underground, confusing opponents. This is particularly effective against Chain Chomps, which can become disoriented and miss their target.

2. Electrifying the Goalie (The Wastelands Stadium)

On The Wastelands stadium, lightning strikes occur periodically. The third strike targets the ball and its surrounding area. If Kritter (the goalie) is near the ball when this strike hits, he gets electrified. Monty can use his deke to become electrified himself without harm. The strategy involves passing to Monty when he's near the goalie, using the deke in the pause between the second and third lightning strikes. This allows Monty to pop up and shoot while the goalie is stunned or avoids the lightning.

3. Hurting Kritter

This is a difficult but impressive trick. Run at Kritter with the ball and use the deke just as he's about to grab it. If timed correctly (within milliseconds), Kritter will be knocked down, and Monty will pop up to send him flying. This leaves an opening to score.

4. Thrown to the Goal

This trick is activated by running at Kritter with Monty and using the deke near the goal's penalty box area. Kritter might fumble, or Monty might be pulled underground and then thrown. Sometimes, Kritter throws Monty and the ball directly into the goal, even if it hits the fence or bar.

Crystal Take-Out (Daisy's Super Ability)

This is a quick goal strategy that requires Daisy as captain and her Super Ability, Crystal Smash. Walk up to Kritter, shoot, and after he catches the ball, use Crystal Smash. Kritter will be stunned, dropping the ball. If positioned correctly, the ball will fall near Daisy, allowing her to header it into the goal.
