Learn how to find the Clawline ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong. This guide details the steps to acquire the White Key, reach Whiteward, and navigate the Underworks to obtain this essential traversal tool.

The Clawline ability is a crucial traversal tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong, allowing you to grapple using silk. To obtain it, you must first progress through Act 2 of the game, which involves defeating either the Last Judge or Phantom. This will grant you access to the Choral Chambers. Navigate to the top of the Choral Chambers and defeat the Cogwork Dancers boss to access the upper right section, leading to Songclave, a safe haven.

The White Key, required to access the area containing the Clawline, is initially found in the corner of Songclave, to the right of the bench. If you ring the bell inside the building before acquiring the key, it may disappear. In this case, you'll need to complete The Wandering Merchant quest by rescuing Jubliana. Once she returns to Songclave, she will have the White Key available for purchase.

With the White Key, locate the elevator that uses it. This elevator is situated in the southwest corner of the Choral Chambers area, near the Ventrica. Look for a long horizontal hallway above the "Choral Chambers" label on your map. Take the left exit and descend the vertical corridor to the bottom, then proceed right to find the elevator to Whiteward.

Whiteward is a linear area. Follow the path to the far eastern side and drop down into the eastern side of the Underworks, north of The Cauldron. Enter the larger room to the left, then proceed left again into a vertical corridor. You'll know you're in the right place if you see lava in the background and the exploding bug enemies.

At the bottom of this vertical corridor, head right into a horizontal corridor with falling lava. Avoid the lava and make your way to the right. At the end, cling to the wall to reach an opening in the ceiling. Climb up and take the second exit on the left. Hop across the platforms to finally acquire the Clawline ability.

Remember that Clawline consumes silk, so ensure you have an adequate supply before using it. With Clawline, you can now access new areas, such as Mount Fay to obtain the Faydown Cloak for a double jump.
