Alright, let's talk grenades in Halo: Combat Evolved. You've got two main types to worry about, and knowing how to use each one can seriously turn the tide of a fight, whether you're playing solo or messing around with friends. Think of them as your trusty sidekicks when you need to clear out a room or take down a tough enemy.

First up, we have the Fragmentation Grenades. These are your standard UNSC issue, and honestly, they're pretty awesome. You can carry up to four of them at a time. The trick with these is how you throw 'em. If you're tossing one at a group of enemies up close, aim for the ground right in front of them. This way, it'll detonate before it has a chance to bounce away. If you're going for a longer toss, try lobbing it through the air so it lands right where you want it. These bad boys are fantastic for taking out big clumps of enemies, especially those pesky Flood, and they can even put a serious dent in those tough Covenant Elites. Just be a little careful – they can bounce off walls unexpectedly, so always keep an eye on where they land. You don't want one rolling back on you!

Next are the Plasma Grenades. These are the Covenant's go-to, and while they might seem a bit less useful at first glance, they've definitely got their niche. They look like big blue blobs when you throw them, so you'll always know exactly where they land. Just like the Fragmentation Grenades, you can hold up to four. The cool thing about Plasma Grenades is that they stick to whatever they hit. This is great for locking onto an Elite and taking it down quickly. However, and this is a big 'however,' you do NOT want to use these against the Flood. If you stick one onto a blob of Flood, it'll just run right back to you and explode in your face. So, my advice? Stick to using Plasma Grenades against Covenant forces and leave the Flood to the Fragmentation Grenades.
