Walkthrough
- 1After the opening cutscene, move Gris to the right. The world will gradually take shape as she moves forward.
- 2Gris will collapse again after passing through fog, but will then gain the ability to jump.
- 3Optional: Backtrack left to a pillar near where Gris first landed. Observe a collapsed statue. Let Gris fall and get up without touching the controller to complete the First Stage of Grief: Denial challenge.
- 4Continue forward until you reach a pulsing light, a Star. Approach it to have it become a companion.
- 5Continue past where you collected the first star, looking for crumbling platforms marked by a tree with upside-down triangular leaves. Platform to the left.
- 6Shortly after beginning to climb a black mountain, collect a second Star.
- 7Further ahead, you'll see a large gap. You don't have enough stars to cross yet.
- 8Climb the stairs on the left of the gap to find a large leaning tower. Ascend the zigzagging stairs to the top. Your two stars will form a bridge to a nearby smaller tower where you can collect a third Star.
- 9Before returning to the gap, mount the first staircase of the leaning tower and jump left. Activate the first Memento by passing over the symbol.
- 10Return to the gap. Your three stars will form a bridge. Cross it and continue right until you reach a crumbling stone hand. A cutscene will play, and you will complete the Red - A Color Has Been Brought Back challenge.
- 11Continue to a giant staircase leading to a temple. At the top, you'll see a pictogram on the back wall.
- 12Proceed forward to a blood-red tree. Your star companions will form a constellation in the sky and leave you.
- 13Continue down the stairs and head right until you slide down a red mountain.
- 14On flat ground, continue right to a black tower. Gris will automatically climb it, marking the end of the prologue.
Tips
- There are five stages of grief to discover throughout the game. Pay attention to subtle environmental cues and follow specific instructions to complete them.
- Mementos are collectibles found in each chapter. The first chapter has two, but one is obtained later.
- The star companions are used to create bridges across gaps.
