Introduction

Welcome to Gris! This guide will walk you through Chapter 1, introducing you to movement, stars, and your first optional collectible. Let's begin!

Hey there! Welcome to Gris. This is your very first step into the game, and it's all about getting you comfortable with the basics. Think of this chapter as a gentle introduction to the world and how you'll interact with it. We'll cover how to move, how to jump, and introduce you to the magical 'stars' that help you progress. Plus, there's a little secret to find if you're feeling adventurous!

You'll start off in a pretty empty space. Just use your left stick, D-pad, or WASD keys to move. At first, you'll just be walking, but don't worry, you'll stumble a bit and then suddenly, you'll be able to jump! Keep heading to the right. You'll soon come across your first 'star.' Grab it – these are super important for moving forward.

After grabbing that star, keep going right. You'll notice some ruins above you, like an old bridge or aqueduct. You'll hit a dead end on the right side, so look up. You can jump onto those ruins. Follow them to the left. You'll eventually reach a point where you can't go any further left. Keep an eye out near the edge here – you might spot a circular object. That's a Memento, and collecting them is totally optional but can unlock cool stuff later, like achievements. After checking that out, keep climbing up. You'll find another star up there.

Once you grab that second star, a little cutscene will play, showing you a star bridge forming. The game will let you know you've got two out of the three stars you need for this part. The star bridge idea pops up a lot, so get used to it! Head left now and jump onto the stairs. Climb all the way to the top of this tower. When you reach the peak, another star bridge will appear. This one only needs two stars, which you already have, and it'll lead you to the tower holding the last star for this section.

After you collect that final star, just drop back down. Head back to the first star bridge you made and cross it. Keep moving right until you see a cutscene with a broken statue hand. You're almost done with this introductory chapter!
