Complete the Far Cry Primal Beast Master mission by taming the White Wolf and unlocking Tensay's skill tree. Learn about rewards and next steps.
Walkthrough
- 1Before leaving Tensay's cave, raid the sack for a rare item.
- 2Travel northwest from Tensay's cave to his marker, following a game trail to a campfire near a bear symbol for resupply. Avoid high-level predators and bears until your weapons are upgraded.
- 3At Tensay's marker, use your owl to locate a three-man Udam wolf hunting camp to the south. A waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) will be generated, and the enemies tagged.
- 4Sneak through the undergrowth and use boulders for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) to approach the camp.
- 5Kill the three Udam hunters. This action enables the crafting of bait, required to tame the White Wolf. The Tame Canines skill is learned and enabled without costing a skill point.
- 6Follow the blood trail south to the wolf's den.
- 7Approach the White Wolf at the base of the cliff (about 30 feet away) without attracting its attention.
- 8Toss bait near the White Wolf. As it eats, move in close and interact to tame it.
- 9A new waypoint marks two Udam hunters to the south of the den.
- 10Before leaving the den area, take the wolf skin from the carcass outside and dislodge stones inside to find a loot bag with valuable crafting hides.
- 11Use your owl to tag the Udam hunters to the south.
- 12Work your way south and direct your White Wolf to attack the nearest Udam, then the one near the shallow stream.
- 13Fast travel to the village using your map.
- 14Speak to Tensay and build his sacred hut if you have the necessary resources.
- 15Speak to Sayla, who is nearby, and build her hut if you have the resources.
- 16After Sayla's hut is built, speak to her inside the cave to receive a club and an ear from a dead Udam. Time will transition to day.
- 17Speak to Sayla again.
Tips
- Be cautious of Udam hunters and wildlife, especially bears and high-level predators, until your weapons are upgraded.
- Use the minimap (the small map in the corner of your HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)) to navigate and locate objectives.
- The owl can be used to scout ahead and tag enemies, revealing them on your radar (your minimap with nearby blips and threats marked).
- Use scattered undergrowth and boulders for cover when approaching enemy camps.
- After taming the White Wolf, use its carcass outside the den to collect a wolf skin and dislodge stones inside to find a loot bag with valuable hides.
- If needed, use meat to heal your beast companion. Its health status is shown on its circular icon on the HUD.
- Having a beast companion discourages lesser predators, making travel safer. However, it can make taming other animals more difficult as it may engage them.
- Consider the Sprint Heal skill, which allows you to heal while sprinting, for survival.
- Upon completing the mission, you will likely have two skill points. It is recommended to invest one in Owl: Attack 1 in the shaman's skill tree and another in Tame Wildcats for a future mission. Each skill costs one skill point.
- Upgrade any gear you have the resources for.
- If you cannot build Sayla's hut immediately, hunt for the needed resources. Building her hut activates her next mission, expands her gathering skills, and places items in your stash.
- Saving a skill point until you earn another allows you to acquire Extra Health 2 after upgrading Takkar's Cave, which can be done after the mission Attack of the Udam.
- Upgrading Tensay's sacred hut unlocks his skill tree, allowing upgrades to the owl and beast taming skills. His next hut upgrade requires a village population of forty.
