A Bridge Too Far

    Return to the Sandgoose Inn in Oakfield. Accept the quest to rid Rookridge of bandits so the bridge leading into town can be reconstructed.

    Backtrack out of Oakfield into Rookridge. Make your way to the broken bridge, turn left at the intersection just before it, and follow the bandits up the hill.

    Continue up the stairs and enter the Rookridge Inn. You will be attacked by several bandits. Clear the lower level, then fight your way upstairs.

    An updated objective will appear: Kill the bandit leader, Dash. Before following him out the back door, check the second bedroom on the left on the second floor for a chest.

    Exit via the door on the top floor of the inn and descend the external stairs. Dash will taunt you and run off.

    Continue along the dirt path ahead, underneath the train tracks and up the stairs nearby. Defeat the small group of bandits at the top of the stairs and grab the chest tucked away behind some crates.

Birth of a Hero

Alright, so you've just woken up and you're ready to start your life as a hero in Fable II. First things first, head into the gypsy camp and grab any items you stashed in your chest. Once you've got your gear sorted, find Theresa near the camp entrance – she's the one who'll kick off your main quest.

Your first real task is to head out of the gypsy camp and make your way to the island in the middle of Bower Lake. Once you get there, look around behind the tomb entrance; you should find a silver key. Grab that, then use the seal on the door to get inside.

Inside, you'll need to jump down a hole into the water. Keep moving forward until you reach a room with some giant beetles. Take 'em out, and keep an eye out for another silver key tucked away in a small alcove on the left.

Continue following the path, dealing with more beetles. Eventually, you'll come to a room with a flit switch – that floating orb thing. Before you use it, check out a second door off to the left. Inside, there's a chest waiting for you. Now, go back to the flit switch. When it turns yellow, shoot it to open the door ahead.

You'll enter a flooded area. You can explore a bit here; there are a couple of small patches of land with dead bodies you can loot for letters. When you're ready, swim across to the land on the opposite side, go up the ramp, and jump down onto the bridge.

Keep following the path until you reach a room with a big circle on the ground and four torches. A flit switch will pop up when you stand in the center. But wait! Before you use it, look back towards where you came in – there's another cave to the right. Head down there, clear out the beetles, and you'll find a couple of treasure chests and some bookshelves to plunder. Once you're done, head back to the room with the flit switch.

Now, stand on the raised circle in the middle of the room. You'll need to shoot the flit switch when it's yellow, then melee it when it turns blue, and finally shoot it again when it goes yellow to open the door. Follow this path into a large chamber and step into the glowing beam of light for a cut-scene.

After the scene, you'll see a glowing red orb. The game will tell you you need a will ability. Open your menu, go to Abilities, select Will, and choose an ability like Shock or Inferno. Head back into the game and use your new skill on the red flit switch to activate a Cullis Gate.

With the Cullis Gate powered up, just walk into it to teleport to your next destination!
