Discover how to enhance your character's protection and attributes in Dreams of Aether. Learn about Aether Encoding, grades, and stat boosts to optimize your gameplay.
In Dreams of Aether, armor and protection are intrinsically linked to the concept of Aether Encoding. This system allows players to imbue their characters with enhanced attributes by channeling and condensing the primordial energy known as Aether.
Aether Encoding Basics:
The Oracle Bracelet is the primary tool for Aether Encoding, transforming raw Dream Aether into energy that boosts seven core attributes: Strength, Agility, Constitution, Vitality, Intelligence, and Perception. The cost of encoding varies based on the volume being enhanced; larger volumes require significantly more Aether. Each body has a limit to how much Aether it can contain, often referred to as the Aether's 100-point limit for humans.
Encoding Grades and Costs:
Aether Encoding comes in different grades, affecting its density and capacity. Grade 1 Aether is like a gas, while Grade 2 and 3 are like liquids and solids, respectively. Each higher grade allows the body to hold 10 times more Aether and enables the inclusion of passive properties akin to Aether Skills. While the Oracle provides the first 7 Grade 1 primary Encodings for free, higher grades and additional Encodings come at a significant cost, purchasable from the Oracle Store. For instance, Grade 2 Strength Encoding costs 1,000 credits.
Attribute Colors:
For simplicity, different Aether energies are assigned colors: Red for Strength, Orange for Agility, Yellow for Constitution, Green for Vitality, Cyan for Intelligence, and Indigo for Perception. The Oracle device consumes varying amounts of Aether for each energy type; for example, one point of Aether is needed for one point of Strength, while two points are needed for Agility.
