Learn advanced combo techniques in Dragon Ball Legends, including warp attacks, knockaways, and chaining moves. Master the connect system for devastating attacks.

This section details advanced combat mechanics in Dragon Ball Legends, focusing on creating and extending combos, known as "connects".

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Step 1: The Initial Hit

Press the Attack button (A) when next to your opponent. This initiates a rapid flurry of punches and kicks.

    • From this initial flurry, you can perform the following:
  2. 2
    Step 2: Flurry Attacks
    • Half circle left to right + A: Causes your character to flutter around the opponent, punching and kicking while driving them downward.
  3. 3
Half circle right to left + A: Causes your character to flutter around the opponent, punching and kicking while driving them upward.
  4. 4
Forward, Forward + A: Causes your character to circle the opponent while delivering a flurry of punches and kicks.
  5. 5
From these flurry attacks, you can perform the following:
  6. 6
    Step 3: Knockaway Attacks
    • Down + A: Knocks the opponent downward.
  7. 7
Up + A: Knocks the opponent upward.
  8. 8
Left or Right + A: Knocks the opponent away in the direction your character is facing.
  9. 9
Directly after a knockaway attack, perform the following:
  10. 10
    Step 4: The Warp

Tap the direction you knocked the opponent twice, holding the direction after the second tap. For example, if you knocked the opponent upwards, tap Up twice, holding Up after the second tap.

This causes your character to follow the knocked-away opponent. A streak in the shape of your character will appear between your initial position and where the opponent landed.

    • As soon as you are next to the knocked-away opponent, you can press Attack to repeat the initial hit (Step 1), then repeat from Step 2 to continue the combo.

Alternative Combo Starters/Extenders:

  • You can start a combo with a Step 3 (Knockaway Attack).
  • Repeatedly press a direction on the directional pad and the Attack button to repeatedly slam your opponent against a wall, the sky, or the ground. This must be done very rapidly.
Tips
  • If you are surrounded by an energy flare while attacking, all your hits will cause the power meter to rise faster.
  • All attacks can be strung after grab and attack moves to create combos. Grab and attacks can also be hooked onto other moves, making for very long combos (e.g., a 23-hit combo with SS Trunks has been achieved). To do this, keep the directional pad held (or tap and hold on PlayStation) in the direction of your knockaway move. Your character will chase the opponent.
  • Be warned: on higher levels, computer-controlled characters are very good at breaking combos.
  • A "high connect" is your personal best combo for that battle. If you achieve an 8-hit combo and it's a high connect, you must perform a combo of 9 hits or more to achieve a new high connect.
  • Escapes: You can escape an opponent's attacks by performing an escape move as soon as you see your opponent start their move. Time your escape for when their move pauses before they swing.
