Alright, let's jump into Part 2 of our Dragon Ball Legends journey! We're going to cover some of the core battle modes and how to get the most out of them. It's not just about fighting; it's about understanding the systems behind the battles.

First up, let's talk about Z Campaign mode. This is where the story unfolds. You'll be controlling characters like Gogeta in the initial fight against Super Buu. Once he's down, Gogeta splits, and you'll be playing as SSJ Goku and SSJ Vegeta against Kid Buu. Keep an eye out: if SSJ Goku gets hit by a 'meteo attack,' he'll revert to his base form. Also, if you lose either Goku or Vegeta during the Kid Buu fight, Majin Buu will join your team – a nice little boost!

During Z Campaign, you can swap characters on the fly using the Z button (Saturn) or Select button (Playstation), as long as you have reserves. This brings up the Story mode character select screen, and while you're deciding, the computer takes over your team. It's a great way to strategize, and you'll even see different characters pop up to comment on the action!

Beating the Z Campaign unlocks SP Battle mode, which is a ranking battle mode. As you encounter characters in the Story mode, they become playable in Versus battle mode. On the Saturn, after finishing the last battle, you can replay any of the eight battles by navigating your save files and pressing left or right.

Next, we have Versus battle. This is your standard versus mode where you can pick any characters you've fought in Story mode. You can choose 1, 2, or 3 characters for your team (hit A on Saturn, O on Playstation when done). Just remember, you can't pick the same characters as your opponent! Unlike Z Campaign, the screen here doesn't scroll. There are three ways to play:

1 Player vs 2 Player: Go head-to-head with a friend.
1 Player vs Computer: Test your skills against an AI-controlled team.
Computer vs Computer: Pick your teams and watch the CPU battle it out.

When two players are fighting, the controls for scrolling characters and targeting opponents are reversed to match their on-screen portraits.

Now, let's get into SP Battle mode. This is the ranking mode. You're given specific characters to use against computer-controlled opponents. You can't choose your own team or your opponent's team, and you can't substitute or withdraw characters mid-battle. This can be a bit frustrating if the AI-controlled member of your team isn't pulling their weight! There are a total of 30 battles in this mode. On Saturn, after completing SP Battle, you can replay any of these 30 battles by accessing your save files.

A quick note: Super Saiyajin Trunks (in battle armor) appears in battle 27 and Story mode, but he's not selectable. Maybe there's a code for him? It's a shame characters like Yamcha are often left out of the playable roster in these games. I think battles like the one against Nappa would have been way more interesting with Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and Chao-Z included!

Finally, let's look at the Options menu. Here you can adjust sound settings (Stereo/Mono), set the difficulty (Normal, Super, and what seems to be 'Master'), and configure your controller. The button layouts differ slightly between Saturn and Playstation, so make sure you're familiar with yours:
