Public Events are dynamic, time-limited activities that occur regularly in various locations across the solar system in Destiny 2. They offer Guardians a chance to team up with other players in the vicinity to complete objectives, defeat enemies, and earn rewards.

Types of Public Events:

• Extraction: Defend a point while a device extracts resources.
• Defense: Protect a payload or a specific area from enemy waves.
• Escort: Guide a friendly unit or vehicle to a destination.
• Heroic Events: Special, more challenging versions of standard Public Events that offer greater rewards upon successful completion.

How to Participate:

Public Events are indicated on your radar by a yellow icon. Simply travel to the indicated location and engage with the event as it begins. Players can join in at any time, and the more Guardians present, the easier the event typically becomes.

Completing Public Events grants various rewards, including experience, Glimmer, Legendary Shards, and potentially weapon or armor drops. Successfully completing Heroic versions of these events often yields higher-quality loot and progress towards certain Triumphs and bounties.
