Destiny 2 features a complex economy of currencies and materials, all essential for upgrading gear, purchasing items, and progressing. Understanding what each item is for will help you manage your inventory and resources efficiently.

Primary Currencies:

• Glimmer: Basic currency, used for almost everything (bounties, mods, minor upgrades). Max cap: 250,000.
• Legendary Shards: Obtained by dismantling Legendary gear. Used for Xûr purchases, Masterworking, and Monument to Lost Lights.
• Bright Dust: Earned from seasonal challenges and Eververse bounties. Used for cosmetic items in Eververse.

Upgrade Materials:

• Enhancement Cores: Used for Masterworking weapons/armor, upgrading armor energy.
• Enhancement Prisms: Higher tier, used for upgrading armor energy to 8/9, Masterworking.
