    Start the quest by speaking with Thane in Tri-Stone.

    Travel to the Lair of the Deposed King. The fast travel point is located between Leviathan’s Gorge and the Breach.

    Inside, head to the middle level of the spiral staircase area.

    Drop down and use the handholds to reach a long beam.

    Use your Death Grip to swing to another beam, then scale the cliff.

Boss Fight: The Deposed King

  • Freeze Slam: The boss slams his weapon, potentially freezing you in ice if you are too close or hit directly. Mash the indicated button to escape.
  • Hurricane: The boss spins with his weapon extended, moving quickly. Use at least three dodges to avoid.

Strategy:

  • The Deposed King wields a large shield and mace.
  • Lure him into performing attacks, then dodge and strike during his recovery.
  • Be especially wary of the Freeze Slam; avoid being near the impact zone and be ready to mash buttons to escape if frozen.
  • Dodge multiple times to evade the Hurricane attack.
  • Whittle down his health by attacking during openings.
