Walkthrough

    Upon entering the DLC, move forward across the bridge and to the right.

    Continue forward to trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) where Ostegoth explains the DLC's challenges.

    You can use the serpent tome here if desired. Proceed south past Ostegoth and enter the unlocked door.

    Inside Frostbone Crypt, ignore the inactive laser statue and locked skull door. Head right around the corner.

    Ignore the Voidwalker pad on the wall above the raised gate. Continue through the unlocked door on the left.

    Climb the stairs, kill the mummies, and note the second Voidwalker pad across the passage to the left. Ignore it for now.

    Continue down the stairs opposite the entry.

    In the next room, activate the portal pad in the alcove to the left of the yellow crystals.

    Continue past the crystals to a dead end and activate the Voidwalker pad across the gap.

    Return to the first portal you activated and use Deathgrip to climb through to the other side.

    Climb down the broken stairs and look left across the gap for another portal pad.

    Fire a charged portal onto this pad, retreat up the stairs, and re-enter the portal.

    After landing on the next platform, look up and right for a chest on a higher platform. Shoot the portal pad up there and wallrun through the portal you entered to land above. Grab the chest and return to the lower platform.

    Immediately turn around and look above the portal you just emerged from to see another pad through a hole near the roof. Activate this.

    Grab the nearby bomb plant and throw it through the closest portal. It will drop into the previous room and remove the yellow crystals.

    Wallrun through the portal afterwards and drop down to where the crystals were. Enter the newly opened passage.

    Use the handholds to navigate the winding corridor and exit into the circular room.

    After a short cutscene, kill the ice lich and ice skeletons/champions.

    Continue through the next door, open the chest for a skeleton key, and pull the nearby lever to open the gate. You will return to the first room.

    Head to the skull door and unlock it. Proceed into the next room.

    Kill the shiver spawn. When you reach the large pit, look on the wall behind and to the right of Death for a portal pad.

    Shoot this pad, then look across the gap to the southeast for a second pad. Enter the first pad to access the platform.

    Follow the passageway around the corner to a cliff. Look on the wall to the left on the other side for another portal pad.

    Shoot this pad, run back around the corner, and re-enter the portal.

    On the other side, wallrun up to the ledge and climb up.

    Shoot the portal pad in the alcove here, then look back across the gap to see a second portal pad near the roof.

    Activate this with a charged portal and enter the first portal nearby.

    Use the hanging poles to jump across the top of the area and access the ledge on the south side.

    Follow the passage around the corner. At the end, look down to the right to see another portal pad.

    Activate this with a charged portal, return to the previous room, and drop down to the portal below and enter it.

    Hop across the beams and follow the passage into a large square room.

    Defend against champions and ice skeletons before exiting the accessible door to the east.

    Shoot the portal pad in front, then turn down the passage to the right.

    Fire a second portal across at the Voidwalker pad opposite. Grab the lantern and enter the nearby portal.

    Return to the lantern statue and give it the lantern.

    The statue will activate, and its beam will hit the portal pad you ignored earlier. Activate this pad now.

    Climb the stairs to the left of it, open the door, and at the top, look down the hallway to the left to see the other pad you ignored earlier.

    Activate this pad to have the laser activate the receptacle above the opposite door, unlocking it. Proceed through.

    In the large room, ascend the stairs to the right. At the top, explore the balcony to the west for a chest.

    Look south from here to see a Voidwalker pad in a door frame on the opposite balcony. Activate this and return to the top of the stairs.

    Look at the easternmost wall for a second portal pad. Activate this and step through.

    Check the other doorway on the balcony for another chest. Drop down into the room below for the boss fight.

Boss: Frostbone Titan

Charged power moves are effective, but do not attempt more than one in a row, as the boss may retaliate aggressively.

Strategy:

  • This fight is similar to tormentor fights in the main game, with some key differences.
  • The Frostbone Titan has an ice explosion attack that can freeze you solid, unlike the projectile vomit of a standard tormentor.
  • It will also throw its axe.
