Underground Route: Level 6Y – Sunken City of Poltergeists

In BLK 6-01, grab candles and drop down to defeat the Skeleton Swordsman. Continue left, carefully making jumps, and defeat another Swordsman.

Head downstairs where Fishmen will appear randomly. Make your way left, using sub-weapons like the Banshee Boomerang or Axe.

Continue left and head up. Kill the Swordsman and grab the Sacred Water from an upper candle.

To the far left, defeat the annoying Bone Dragon guarding the door. Standing to the right of the stairs and using sub-weapons is a safe strategy, as he has a lot of health but drops many hearts.

In BLK 6-02, navigate the screen with Bats and Fishmen, heading left.

Jump gaps and take stairs to the left. Enemies will stop appearing, indicating a respite before another Bone Dragon. Attack it regularly, using sub-weapons if needed.

In BLK 6-03, grab the Axe from the first candle. Gather other candles, then drop straight down for a close-range Bone Dragon fight. Be ready to jump its low fireballs and use sub-weapons and your whip.

Continue left, gathering items. Defeat another Bone Dragon above you, being careful not to jump into its attacks.

Past this Bone Dragon, the upper candle on the way down contains a Pocket Watch, which is not ideal at this point. Gather other candles and head up.

In the upper coliseum, gather candles. The upper left candle has a Dagger. Jump down and prepare for another Bone Dragon on flat ground; jump its low shots and defeat it.

Prepare for the boss, Bone Dragon King (Part 1).

BOSS: Bone Dragon King (Part 1): The Dragon King enters from the upper left. Try to land hits as he appears. He moves erratically. Stay on the upper left or right to jump inwards if necessary. His long tail makes dodging difficult, but chunks fall off as you damage him. Avoid being knocked into the water below, which results in instant death; duck if a hit is coming. The Axe or Banshee Boomerang are effective, especially when he flies overhead. Out-damaging him is key.

After the fight, the room fills with water as the Dragon King escapes, and you automatically proceed to the next block.

In BLK 6-04, kill the Bat and proceed quickly as the water is rising.

Head right, jumping gaps and watching out for the candle before the elevated platforms, which contains a Dagger.

The elevated platforms crumble as you cross them. The second platform has Sacred Water, which is not ideal here.

Whip or use a sub-weapon on each new platform to avoid being knocked back into the water by Fishmen.

Past the crumbling platforms, the water rises fast. You will see a split in the path. Go UP.

If you have enough time, you can go right to a dead end. Break the right wall for a 1-Up. If time is short, do not go for this.
