    After a brief backstory, you'll witness Prince Marlon's coronation, which is attacked by skeletons Biggs and Wedge. Defeat them using the fight command.

    A Dark Knight appears and attacks Ogden. This battle is unwinnable; the Dark Knight will defeat you and flee with the prince.

    Ogden is sent to a woodsman's cabin. Speak to the woodsman to sleep and recover health.

    The next morning, the woodsman asks you to complete a task at the cave to the west. He gives you a Wooden Stick (which earns the trophy _High-Tech Weaponry_) and tells you to go to the cave.

    Before going to the cave, head to the Village of Derwent to the northeast.

Village of Derwent

In Derwent, you can purchase starting gear. The inn is free. It is recommended to grind outside town until you can afford a Hat (10 Gold) and a Leather Shield (60 Gold). You can also grind for Leather Armor (100 Gold).

Save your game at the church in the northwest.

To work towards the _Well Educated_ trophy, read the four bookshelves in Derwent. Ogden must find the books interesting to count towards the thirty required books during Ogden's Story.

Desert Cave

Head west from the village. The cave near the woodsman's house is not the correct one. Continue west to find the Desert Cave near the western coast.

  1. Inside the Desert Cave, go northwest to find a chest containing 25 Gold.
  2. To the east, find another chest containing a Herb.
  3. To the north, find a chest containing the Lantern.

Return to the woodsman with the Lantern. After Ogden explains he is from Castle Wester, the woodsman will let him keep the Lantern. You can now enter the dark cave to the northwest.

Mountain Tunnel

This dungeon features enemies that inflict poison, which damages you after every few steps while moving, not just at the end of combat. You can buy Antidotes or rely on healing with Helios. This dungeon is not very long and is manageable around level fourteen.

An Antidote and a Herb can be found west of the entrance. You can find 30 Gold inside.

  • Grind outside Village of Derwent until you can afford a Hat and Leather Shield.
  • Read all four bookshelves in Village of Derwent for the _Well Educated_ trophy.
