Spectator Mode is a feature in Battlefield 4 that allows players to join servers through the "Spectator Join" option. Instead of joining a server to fight, you can observe the match.

This mode enables you to switch between players using a top-down view, a first-person view, a third-person view, and a free cam view. The free cam (a camera that is not tied to a specific player) allows you to look around the map using your controller.

If you wish to join a game as a soldier, you must first exit Spectator Mode and then join the server.
