Learn about Absalom, a hostile wastelander in Absolum. Discover his inventory, encounter locations, and why he's a serious threat to travelers in the Commonwealth and beyond.
Hey there! So, you're venturing out into the Commonwealth and wondering about the folks you might run into? Let's talk about Absalom. He's not exactly the friendly type, so it's good to know what you're up against. Absalom is a wastelander you'll find wandering around the Commonwealth, and sometimes even out on The Island. He's been around since 2287, and trust me, he's not someone you want to cross paths with unprepared. ### Background Basically, Absalom is a crazed wastelander. He's immediately hostile, heavily armed, and extremely dangerous. This guy is a roving sniper, so don't underestimate him. He's a serious threat to anyone traveling through the Commonwealth. ### Interactions with the Player Character Unfortunately, Absalom doesn't have any special interactions. He's not going to chat with you or offer any quests. He's just hostile, plain and simple. ### Inventory When you take him down, you can expect to find: * Apparel: Baseball cap, a full set of Combat armor, Long johns, and Sunglasses. * Weapon: He's usually packing a Hunting rifle with various mods, and sometimes a Sniper rifle with various mods. These are no joke! * Other items: You'll also find some Bottlecaps (around 15) and .308 rounds (about 10). ### Encounter Locations Absalom can pop up in a lot of different places. Keep an eye out near: * A ruined house between Hangman's Alley and Vault 81. * Dartmouth Professional Building. * The church in Hyde Park. * Near Skylanes Flight 1981. * An abandoned house with a "bar & restaurant" sign, near the Nahant Chapel. * An abandoned pharmacy west of Mass Gravel & Sand, just before the raised interstate. * A roof near Monsignor Plaza. * Near Fort Hagen. * An unmarked shack south of the Electrical Hobbyist's Club. * The bus and apartment wreckage (a yellow house between Andrew station and Hester's Consumer Robotics). * Near Chestnut Hillock Reservoir. * Near The Shamrock Taphouse. * Near or inside Fallon's department store. * A roof south of Custom House Tower and north of Shamrock Taphouse. * A warehouse between Quincy ruins and Atom Cats garage (closer to Quincy ruins). * The chapel at Hyde Park (again). * Outside of Diamond City. * A Chryslus car center between Shaw High School and Gunners plaza. * Upstairs in an unmarked house south of Croup Manor. * *Far Harbor DLC:* A shack near Eagle's Cove Tannery. * *Far Harbor DLC:* A ruined house near the northern tip of the small island with Rayburn Point on it. ### Notes Here are a few things to keep in mind about Absalom: * He is *always* hostile. No amount of Charisma or perks like Intimidation will change that. He might be non-hostile to Minutemen sometimes, but never to you, the Sole Survivor. * When he's dying, he'll say, "Well that's never happened before," even if you've completely blown his head off. Kinda creepy, right? * Absalom's level scales with yours, which is pretty rare in Absolum. He has the same health as human companions up to level 50, and is even tougher before level 25. Combined with his combat armor, he's a really tough opponent, especially if you run into him early on. * If you injure him but don't kill him, he'll keep that same health the next time you see him (he doesn't respawn, though). So yeah, be prepared when you hear gunfire and think you've found a good sniping spot. It might just be Absalom, and he's not looking to make friends.100% Human-Written. AI Fact-Checked.
