Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness Part 6 covers destroying oil platforms, defeating yellow's navy, and tackling the Heart of Evil mission.
Walkthrough
- 1Build a lumber mill on the island and start on the northern trees. Build a town hall.
- 2When the first oil field runs out, use the one at the bottom of the island. Keep building oil ships and occasionally the platform, as purple throws whirlwinds and occasional dragons at it.
- 3When an oil field has less than 500 oil, it is not worth rebuilding and can be used as a trap for yellow.
- 4Build eight battleships (with spotter) and 4-5 destroyers (for anti-dragon protection). Ensure battleships have both armor upgrades.
- 5Attack yellow's navy. Their main base is in a horseshoe shape. Destroy their navy and then their structures.
- 6Approach purple from the left. Concentrate on destroying purple's structures until your ships are lost.
- 7While your ships are engaged with purple, build an invasion force and smash what is left of yellow.
- 8Once your ships are finished, send in the invasion force to clean up purple. You may lose some units to death knights.
- 9Once all objectives are complete, you win.
Tips
- Use mage-polymorph on dragons.
- Destroyers provide anti-dragon protection.
- The second battleship attack upgrade is expensive for a limited oil level.
- Don't worry too much about losing ships when attacking yellow's main base.
Walkthrough
- 1You start in the bottom left with a fair-sized force and skeletons attack immediately.
- 2Head upwards and find a small area with a few orcs just below the curve of the rocks. Destroy the orcs and set up here.
- 3Build a town hall and start on the trees to clear the mine.
- 4To avoid death knights casting Death and Decay, build around the trees rather than above them and use towers to block both approaches.
- 5Red will send dragons; deal with them as usual.
- 6Once you have flyers, send one over the wall. Death knights will cast Whirlwind on the flyer instead of Death and Decay. Move the flyer around the wall to keep the death knights occupied.
- 7A second mine is in the bottom middle, but cyan is close to it. Build and defend towers immediately. Later, build a town hall here to use the mine and attack cyan. Ensure more than just towers defend this area until cyan is finished.
- 8Place archer towers around your first mine and leave it with a couple of thousand gold to produce a peasant slaughter for white.
- 9Build up a force to smash cyan. Heal your units and then attack white.
- 10White guards the only entrance to the north half of the level.
- 11Position a flyer above black's mine to view its status. Wait until black's mine is depleted (red should also be working on it) before attacking black.
- 12You can attack red from the north side of the wall to the right. Red primarily builds dragons.
- 13Black has death knights, including the hero Teron Gorefiend. Use the peasant martyr tactic to reduce mana. Smash death knights with archers, keeping daemons off you.
- 14Use catapults to destroy the sanctum and the fortress to win.
Tips
- Be careful not to build too close to the rocks initially due to death knights casting Death and Decay.
- Exploit an AI problem later to prevent death knights from casting Death and Decay.
- Cyan will send troops to clear blockades, so ensure defenses are strong.
- Black has a huge mine.
- Red doesn't build many troops other than dragons.
- Teron Gorefiend is restricted to 255 mana.
Walkthrough
- 1You immediately start under attack from two directions. Fight the one on the left and then rush forces to the top, remembering to include the catapult.
- 2Once these initial attacks are dealt with, you can begin to establish your base within the square-ish walls, which already have towers and a good number of troops.
- 3Do not wander outside these walls until well into the level.
- 4Green and white share the land with you, and purple has an island to the north.
Tips
- This level and the final one are significantly harder than previous missions.
