Follow this comprehensive Visions of Mana trophy and achievement roadmap to unlock all achievements. Includes main story, side quests, postgame, and cleanup tips.
This guide outlines the roadmap to achieving all trophies and achievements in Visions of Mana. It is divided into four main steps: playing the main story, completing side quests and Ancient Ruins, tackling the postgame on Hard difficulty, and finally, cleaning up any remaining objectives.
Step 1 - Play the Main Story
Begin by playing through the main story on any difficulty. While Beginner mode is available for an easier experience, the game is not overly challenging. Key objectives during this phase include opening 100 chests (for the Treasure Seeker trophy), gathering Elementites as Vessels are unlocked, unlocking all Meridians (save points), defeating all Nemeses, and finding all Li’l Cacti collectibles. It is also advisable to collect Grizzly Syrups for purchases from the Dudbear.
Step 2 - Side Quests and Ancient Ruins
While most side quests are optional, five specific quests are crucial as they contain exclusive Nemeses: "Death’s Portent," "No Place Like Home," "Menaces by the Manor," "Calm before the Storm," and "Devil in the Dunes." These can be completed during the main story or afterward. The Ancient Ruins should be tackled towards the end of the main story due to their high-level enemies (level 50+). Clearing the areas outside the ruins grants access to an inner chamber with a Nemesis. Defeating this Nemesis yields a powerful weapon. There is a trophy/achievement for finding all eight ruins and another for defeating all Nemeses.
Step 3 - Postgame Story (Hard Difficulty) and Black Rabite
After completing the main story, load your clear data to access the postgame. The final boss of this section, Aeve Zalaha, must be defeated on Hard difficulty to earn the The Spawn of Calamity trophy/achievement. Failing to do so and saving will require replaying on New Game+. Additionally, the optional superboss, Black Rabite, is accessible in the final story dungeon postgame. This boss can be fought on any difficulty.
Step 4 - Cleaning Up
If any achievements remain after completing Step 3, this final phase involves cleaning them up. Most trophies unlock naturally, but some may require specific actions. For instance, the Know Thine Enemy trophy requires a complete bestiary. Tricky enemies to register include the Lizardon (which transforms from a Tonpole in Dura Gorge) and Shadow Zero-One (found only on the Floating Isle of Ulul in the postgame). Other collectibles like Elementites may require backtracking.
